WELCOME, FRESHERS!

If you already know about how absolutely fabulous Exetera is then great: go back to the Exetera homepage, enjoy the features on the site and pop back later for another fix. However, if you’re unfamiliar with who we are and what we do, prepare to have your Exetera cherry well and truly popped. Just sit back, relax and allow us introduce ourselves…

We are a small team who design, print and circulate a free themed magazine bursting with high quality creative content once a term. Our aim since 2011 has been to provide a platform for the University of Exeter’s best writers, photographers, illustrators and designers to showcase interesting and innovative work. Contributors riff on the edition’s theme in a way that we hope is amusing, timely, satirical, informative and/or relevant to Exeter.

Previous themed editions of the magazine include Politics, International, Science, Occult (indulge yourself here) and you can grab a copy of the latest Eros edition on campus this week. We will reveal the theme and deadline for the upcoming edition soon so keep an eye on the Facebook page for imminent details.

But, as you may have guessed by reading this piece, we also love sharing content on our sexy minimalist website. Browse the site to read the best features and listen to exclusive mixes from Exeter’s finest cultural connoisseurs.

Oh, and we’re not a society or affiliated with the Students’ Guild in any way whatsoever. Nuh-uh. That means there are no fees, no members and no censoring. We are, however, extremely grateful to our advertisers and the University’s Annual Fund as they ensure that Exetera can be made, read and enjoyed for free.

We would love you to get involved by writing, illustrating or taking photos for us. Send over your questions or queries to and any submission ideas to the imaginatively named . Go on, you know you want to. And if you like what you see in the magazine or online then tell your friends about us and give us a like on Facebook!
