Happy 4th Birthday, Our House!
Exeter’s leading electronic music brand has had one massive year. Our House generation ‘15/’16 presented Boiler Room sensation Dan Shake, Glaswegian maestros Denis Sulta and Jasper James, and Redlight’s Lobster Boy protégé, Mella Dee. The 2015 management team, Harry Fox, Harry Gordon and Marek Skibinski have enjoyed the class backup of Exeter’s big demand resident DJ’s, Harry Parsons, Alex Woolley, Tom Deuchars, Matt Lloyd and Matt Khoo.
This Saturday 21ST May, get down to Exeter Phoenix to celebrate four glorious years of Our House. Raising the bar again, the boys are throwing a truly special party with their biggest booking yet, Breach.
A classically trained musician, exceptional DJ and revered producer, Ben Westbeech’s diverse musical CV is packed with huge names, such as Rusko, Henrik Schwarz and Motor City Drum Ensemble. Harry Gordon credits Breach as the perfect mix of underground and commercial spheres. With his collection of both accessible and deeper tracks, Our House anticipates this set will appeal to a range of partygoers. Breach’s smash hits ‘Jack’ and ‘Everything You Never Had’ both peaked at nine in the UK singles chart. His ‘Naked Naked’ label imprints a back catalogue of collaborative work with massive underground dance music’s names, including Midland, Dusky and Dark Sky. Marek agrees, deeming Breach a dream booking for the Our House 4th birthday event. Having performed at worldwide festivals and clubs including Berghain’s Panorama Bar, the Our House team is eager to see ‘what surprises his record bag holds’ for Breach’s Exeter debut.
This party calls for a radical change-up of the Phoenix experience, hints the Our House team. Swapping out the usual lighting and décor, expect a distinctively Cavern-esque venue makeover. Harry Fox is thrilled by the possibilities of a large space to re-create the Our House ambience for an even bigger audience. Fox adds this spatial upgrade will compliment the eclectic set from Breach, looking forward to a melting pot night of house, techno and disco cuts. Harry is keen to darken the Phoenix’s centerpiece room, the Auditorium, visualising an underground atmosphere. Fox is planning new levels of show production that has yet to be done in Exeter. English Disco Lovers will be hosting room two, with Tom Deuchars, Harry McDonald, Oli Holman and Dan Bailey in the Voodoo Lounge.
For a night dedicated to Our House celebrations, expect a collective of past, present and future on show. With more surprises in store for Saturday, the team can’t wait to leave their mark with an unforgettable, immersive night.
For the last time this year, expect ‘The Harry’s’ to bring a totally new experience to our favourite, familiar venue.
